Do you deliver worldwide? Yes we do. We will deliver motor and sailing yachts worldwide. Our command team has global experiece and commercially endorsed RYA Ocean Yachtmaster qualifications and/or the prestigious UK Maritime Coastguard Agency 3000gt (unlimited) certificate of competence. Can I join you on the voyage? We would be delighted to have you join us on the delivery voyage. The route can be tailored to enable you to join or depart your boat at a port of your choice. In addition, if you are a new owner, we would be delighted to learn the capabilities of your new vessel together while offering some sail training advice. Do I have to prepare my boat for the delivery voyage? Yes. Your boat needs to be seaworthy and insured for the voyage to be undertaken. We can advise you on the safety and navigational requirements prior to our arrival. We will always conduct a pre-departure inspection to ensure that we are happy to undertake the voyage. We will always aim to turn up 24 hours before the time of departure to enable us to conduct this inspection. We will always reserve the right to refuse to take a vessel to sea if we do not think it is seaworthy. We will produce a post voyage report for you. What qualifications do you have? Our command team will be qualified to at least Yachtmaster Ocean with a commercial endorsement. Most of the team will hold the prestigious MCA 3000gt (unlimited) qualification. We all hold a GMDSS GOC and a full suite of safety, advanced firefighting and medical STCW certificates. We have many years of maritime experience and at least 2 years of command experience as well as many miles of global sailing and motor yacht experience. We can provide details on request. How much does it cost? We will take into account a number of factors when pricing your delivery voyage using your quotation form as a basis for our costs. However, we will discuss details with you personally before producing a detailed quotation. There will be no hidden costs. What about travelling time, mechanical and weather delays? Travel time will be billed at a reduced daily rate. Travel will always be by the fastest and most economic route. Mechanical delays will be looked at on an individual basis. Any work required will be discussed with you prior to us commissioning any contractors. If the breakdown happens at sea we will assess the situation and proceed to the nearest appropriate safe haven. Weather delays will be charged at a reduced daily rate and again, we will keep you informed fully of the situation. In all cases we will risk assess the situation and make decisions based on experience and sound judgement. Our aim is to deliver your vessel safely and efficiently, not to protract the process by sitting alongside in harbour. Does the vessel have to be insured? Yes it does. As part of our seaworthy inspection we will check your paperwork onboard - this will include your insurance certificate. All of our crew will have their own personal insurance and we have company indemnity insurance. We will not undertake a voyage if we feel the vessel is not insured to the appropriate level. Who will conduct the delivery voyage? We have a database of captains/skippers and crew. We check all of their qualifications and they will all do a delivery voyage with our Directors before being endorsed to operate on behalf of 4 Winds Yachting Ltd. Our Directors have many years of maritime and command experience and will not endorse anyone who they believe to be underqualified, underexperienced or otherwise unsuitable to commanding or crewing yachts to the very high standards we demand of our staff. Please contact us directly to discuss your requirements with us. We look forward to hearing from you. 4 Winds Yachting has moved***please note change of contact details - website will be updated shortly!
